MY THOUGHTS
Selected reflections on investment, power, diplomacy, and decision-making. Each entry captures how I see the world shaped by experience, structure, and long-range thinking. I hope these fragments of thought offer something useful to those shaping decisions of their own.
Being a Woman in Finance
To young women considering a career in investment management: it doesn't matter if you drink, watch sports, or fit in. It rewards results - making it one of the most meritocratic fields, and an ideal place for women to lead with different perspectives.
Taiwan’s Sovereign Wealth Fund

In this op-ed published by The Washington Times, I share a strategic framework for Taiwan’s newly announced sovereign wealth fund. Drawing from over 30 years of investment experience in New York and my current role as Vice Dean at National Sun Yat-sen University, School of Banking and Finance, I propose a three-layer model that aligns global best practices with Taiwan’s national policy goals.
Why I Built ZiVA Wealth for Women?

People often ask me, “Why build Ziva just for women?” The answer is simple: most men don’t listen. 😬
After 7.5 years in wealth management, I saw the pattern up close. Many men believe they already know more than their financial advisors. Women, on the other hand, are often told by their husbands, fathers—even sons—that they shouldn’t invest because they “don’t know enough.” So they’re excluded from decisions about their own money.
From Prestige to Purpose

To those who are thinking about stepping away from what’s known in order to build something bigger and more meaningful—I understand it takes courage.

For me, leaving a prestigious career in investment management wasn’t about quitting. It was about realigning. Letting go of external validation allowed me to build something deeper, more lasting, and truly my own.
Taiwan's Global Investment Strategy

In this op-ed in LTN news, I wrote about Taiwan's investments in the U.S., as demanded by Donald Trump in the tariff negotiations, should not be viewed as capital flight- they represent a mature global asset allocation strategy.

By directing funds into U.S. strategic industries, Taiwan can generate returns, strengthen national security and deepen its global influence.
